unofficially official
Today is the one year anniversary of the soft launch of Wishmoon Studio, announced only to the people who had signed up for my mailing list in the months before. It was a crazy, stressful day, in part because I still had to go to work that day, so I couldn't start printing and filling orders until I got home that night. I also had a terrible printer issue crop up partway through that required hand feeding each sheet for the remainder of orders, and meant I was up VERY late. In other words, exactly the reasons for doing a soft launch.
The things I learned from it were the reason I took the day off for the official launch, did a bunch of research on how to deal with the printer issue, and printed up a bit more inventory in preparation. Other than the most random and ill-timed glitch with Instagram when I made the official announcement, launch day went pretty smoothly.
I'll have a more official post for the official anniversary, but today, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who ordered from me a year ago today and (knowingly or not) let me test things out on you by doing so. Thank you, too, to my core group of beta testers who went through it before that, when I was still tweaking the site and the delay of my mailing supplies meant they didn't get their orders for two weeks.
And, most especially and always, to my beloved husband who put up with my stress-induced freakouts, talked me through my self-doubt and imposter syndrome, reminded me to eat and stay hydrated, kept me company while I hand fed those sheets through the printer, and made the post office run for me the next day. I love you, Sally.
And happy unofficial birthday, Wishmoon Studio.
