winding down

Watching the sky show off for us tonight from the front porch. This breathtaking world, I tell you what....

I hope you're all well as we navigate the last month of this life changing year. I've been away from social media a bit for the last couple of weeks, except for a few brief pop ins here and there. No particular reason, just feeling the need for a break and busy with other things. My creative reserves have been running a bit low of late, and I've also wanted to spend my time away from screens for awhile.

Even more than that, though, the transition from autumn farewell to winter welcome has had me in a kind of odd place. Like I have a foot in each but not fully present in either. It's been an interesting time of reflection. And contentment.

December comes to me differently every year, so it's no wonder that this year would be especially unique that way. This year it's gradual, but that's okay. Life in the time of covid has tremendously strengthened my practice of being present, so I'm just letting December reveal itself to me day by day. It's been lovely so far.
