no justice no peace

I started this journal page Friday after compiling the list of resources I shared on social media that day, and worked on it off and on Friday and Saturday between immersing myself in the news and reports of what's happening, making donations, continuing to learn and listen, etc etc. I'm trying to process it all, along with my own thoughts and feelings about this issue and history. Trying to absorb and understand so I can be the anti-racist ally I want to be. I honestly don't know how I'd do that without art and writing as outlets.

Maybe art and writing aren't your outlets. Maybe you turn to music, or prefer some time on the yoga mat. Maybe it's jogging or cooking or cleaning your house. Whatever your outlet is, I urge you to dig into it periodically in the midst of all this. That doesn't mean check out, it means take breaks and come back. There's so much to process and understand -- and for white people in particular, a lot to learn, internalize, and change. We need you in this fight to make the world better, which means we need you at your best.
