You know when you're ready for a big change, but for an important reason (money, timing, logistics), you have to bide your time for a little bit? That's it's not a matter of "not going to do it" but more a matter of "can't do it just yet"? And in the meantime, the biding time, you are so ready for the change that it's REALLY hard to be present, to exist in the Right Now, even though you know that the Right Now is important?
The in-between is such a hard place, isn't it? I'm there right now. And some days (TODAAAAAAY) are a mighty struggle with wanting tomorrow. Being present is not for the faint-hearted.
I made this tiny little artwork many years ago for a moment like this one, when I was in a similar place, to help myself remember that Right Now is where our life is, always. In this moment, and not the one ahead (or behind), no matter how tantalizing. I forgot about it until I happened upon it just now, scanning through some old photos in my phone. Past Me telling Current Me: that moment for change will come, but being present for Right Now is our reason for today.
If you're struggling in the in-between place, maybe Past Me is talking to you, too.
