This piece is inspired by the moody sea and sky of the Oregon Coast in winter. The mercurial, tumultuous ocean of the Pacific Northwest is my water medicine.

I’ve incorporated acrylic paint and mediums, watercolor, tissue paper, fabric netting, and impasto work, all built up in layer after layer, to represent dimension and movement and the subtle ranges of blues, greens, and purples in stormy Pacific waters.

This work is part of my ‘Repurposed’ series, in which I have utilized used canvases and artist panels discarded by another artist as my starting surface to create new original works. Giving new life to discarded items is a core theme of much of my artwork, reflecting my pursuit of living sustainably to be as good of a steward of the earth as I can.

Artwork Details

6”x6” mixed media and found materials assemblage on gallery wrapped canvas. Artwork is signed and framed by artist in a 7”x7” custom float frame with hand distressed finish and is ready for hanging. Framed artwork measures 7.75” x 7.75” x 2”. Art label included.
